I listen to podcasts while driving in the truck, because broadcast radio is almost exclusively crap.
In a recent episode I was shocked to hear of the passing of Dr. William Aprill, and decided to do some digging to confirm.
(For context, here is an AAR of the class he taught for GOAL in November 2018 - Unthinkable class ). I attended the class, and wholeheartedly underscore the report.
The published obituary here at obits.nola.com confirms the info I heard on the podcast. From other research it appears that he knew he was ill, and mentioned it to at least one or two other trainers, possibly with the hope of doing something to "pass the baton".
I can't say I knew him - but I sat in his class, have at least one DVD of him (from ACLDN), and am persuaded that "gun culture 2.0" has lost a unique, valuable, and insightful perspective.
Unlike me, he was in no way ordinary.
