Thanks to Buck Nekid, for telling me about Crimson Trace's discount for NRA instructors. I paid $179 +$10s/h for a CT 405 that lists for $299 and internet special price of $230. You can buy 3 per year. Just have your instructor number ready and they enter it in and get your name and address.

There are many such programs for instructors.

Calling manufacturers and asking if they have a program for instructors can open other doors as well. One sampling is on the education and training section of the NRA website as follows:

Last year I purchased one using my NRA instructor's number for my Keltec .380. It made that little pocket pistol a very accurate piece indeed. Fit and finish are virtually identical the pistol and don't affect handling in the least. It's a wonderful accessory for that instinctive shooter. And, the discount was appreciated, too!
