just mailed my order to cmp with all the paperwork and a check,

ordered the m1 garand springfield special, new barrel new wood,

almost a BRAND NEW garand, now i gotta wait up to 120 days till i even get to shoot it,

i head other people saying they know the status of there ordering, i know its soon but i was wondering what happens next until im holding my garand

The CMP will send you a DBU (Don't bother us) e-mail when they physically open your mail. (It took them over a month to send mine). They assign you a customer #. Then when they process your order they will contact you about any out of stock items. In my case it was .30-06 ammo that was no longer available in cans. (This took another 6 weeks). Then when they ship anything they'll send you tracking numbers. In my case they shipped the ammo, still waiting to hear about the Garand.

As for tracking it, you can setup an account at the estore. Nothing actually shows up there until they process the order. My Garand order now shows up as "pending". My ammo order shows up in the order history.
