CBS Wants to Interview On-line Purchasers

Why doesn't someone suggest that they get their license, and go through the process themselves? It would lend credence to the story.

Didn't some media type do that not too long ago and attempt a straw purchase in NH or at a gun show? I thought that happened...

Hmmm... If they want to buy a gun in my name I'd get one online. They can see how it's transferred, legally and I get a nice piece.

Straw purchase. But if David Gregory is the reporter he won't be charged...

You misunderstood. I just want them to observe how I would buy a gun over the internet for myself, but with their money. They get to see it done and I get a firearm. Everybody's happy.

Would be great if they could speak with someone extremely knowledgeable like Cekim or Rob B. (for example) rather than a know-nothing FUDD that will most certainly damage our cause.
Come across like the redneck they're looking for before the interview, then get serious when the tape is rolling.

They are just waiting for the camo draped, the world is ending because Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya type with a grudge to settle to call in...thankfully the guys at work have hidden my phone.

Story will be used in support of "universal background checks" (i.e., no FTF sales). All the interview will be cut to say is that one person that bought the most "assault" type rifle and the words "I bought it on-line" and that is it. It is a set up for an assassination piece. They want a face so all the sheep will panic about all these guns flooding the state. The story will of course omit key factors like the AWB in MA or the fact that all LTC holders in MA would pass the background check as they have an LTC...

I worked in TV for a few year on production and this is how I would use it if I were a blank-hole socialist.

I see a whole ton of unsourced typical NES FUD contrasting with someone with actual knowledge and experience with the exact opposite opinion. I know which I'm more likely to credit.

Actual experience: I get media calls now and then. A few years ago this reporter from a national business magazine called about a story he was doing related to tax shelters. He asked if a particular series of derivatives transactions were indicative of an illegal shelter. I offered to help him figure it out. He sent me more information. I told him there was no clear answer -- that the transactions could have a legitimate business purpose apart from tax and that one would need to know more about the underlying business to reach an opinion. I explained, very clearly, why this was true and offered legitimate hypothetical reasons a business might engage in the questioned transactions. That was the last time I talked to the reporter. Shortly thereafter I saw the story in the magazine claiming the opposite of what I told the reporter. Now I just tell them I don't have time to talk to them. In my admittedly limited experience they just want a quote to confirm the story they know they want to tell. If I don't give it to them they will just get someone else who will.
