Carbine stock with 20" Barrel

Can you use a Carbine stock , with a 20" upper? As far as issues with the function of the upper I know probably a dumb question

It's not a dumb question, and yes you can. Just make sure it's legal in the state that you live in.

That's the set-up I have (Colt HBAR 20" with a MagPul UBR and H buffer) The only issue I have is with Wolf ammo. My rifle refuses to run with it.
