BREAKING: attack at Bastille Day celebrations

Really you can't change the stripe of a Zebra so best to figure out how you as an individual can fight for survival. Politicions are going to put every poisonous snake in amoung us so your best bet is recognize the snake and learn how to defend yourself from its bite.

Suppose you were there with your ccw and the truck is going by, killing people and headed toward your family. What could you do?

I mean I grew up with ice cream and air conditioning. They're growing up with midnight raids and mine fields. They are not like us in very many ways.

I think that eradication is impossible, irresponsible, elitist, and wrong. But we can help these places assimilate to a more western culture.

It doesn't seem likely that a shooting/bombing/droning strategy is working. I think we need to start employing drastically different tactics in this "war on terror."

We ought to introduce them to some comfort and try to ween them off the whole death to America (and it's allies) trip that they seem to be on. We should drop playboy magazines on their villages.

The only thing they need to be introduced to is a certain death of they join Daesh. They don't care about us and don't want to be like us. Anyone who is not them is, in their eyes, at war with them.

Dropping playboy magazines on their villages (wtf?) will really get them to turn around and want to be like us. Maybe you haven't seen what they've been doing to European women recently. Maybe you forgot what they did to women last New Year's Eve in Germany.

This is war and nothing short if taking them out at every turn will fix this.

Yes, if we stop coddling them, stop giving them welfare, and demand they either appreciate our Culture (what's left of it), or go home, I am certain individual Muslims will no longer be Muslims-First, and will be functioning and worthwhile additions to our Country.

Stop importing them; give them a chance to assimilate; deport those who refuse.

And yes, they can still pray to their Flying Spaghetti Monster.

You could kill millions but in a few generations the population would be grown back and ready for vengence. It will take more than just the fear of death to stop these murderers and the people don't have the will to do what it takes.

It's another thread that should be started. It's something we should all talk about because it will happen again and it will happen here. They see the tactic as successful and bummer wants 10,000 more terrorist here from Syria. My god to see them little kids murdered in the streets in Paris made my gut wrench thinking that could have been part of my family...

The playboy comment was tongue in cheek. I was inferring that we ought to give them some of the great things we as freedom loving Americans enjoy, ie; good food, education, medicine, maybe a nice whiskey.... porn.... the list goes on and on.
Progress is slow... Give this generation the chance to be Consumers and they will. Kids don't want to blow themselves up, they want an iphone.

All the men who did 911 and murdered thousands of us had good food, medicine, education and a high style of living. I don't think you understand why they kill us and bringing them here and giving them everything won't stop them. Didn't work in Kali and it didn't work in Florida.

Seems to me that the best caliber to prevent a truck from killing you is a 13. Like, Size 13. Like, my shoe size as I sprint toward something that'll save my life.

Don't fool yourselves. If you think you possess the cajones to calmly usher your family to safety, then draw your .357 (really?), square up against a truck moving at 25mph, drop the driver or blow up the engine with a series of well-placed shots, then predict in which direction the truck will go before it loses momentum and neatly avoid it... Well, you've seen far too many movies.

The best you can do against a suicide truck? SItuational awareness and a very stout barrier wall nearby. Then, run your ass off to get behind that wall when the time comes.

Yup, lets all weep for the poor Muslims. Look, I'm sure that woman and her family were not bad people and I am sure they are devastated over their loss but WTF. Leave it to the NYT to highlight her so they can say, "See, he wasn't trying to kill non-Muslims or he would not have run over a Muslim woman." It's called acceptable collateral damage to these animals. Is the NYT really that stupid or are they just figuring their readers are?

You surmised that the "plan" was to scare countries into locking down their borders. You then went on to suggest that if we gave them what we have and did not lock down borders, they would not be forced to join ISIS. How many attacks will it take for you to see that they don't care about what we have? They only care about what their prophet says. And he says infidels must die.

that looks like a cab over truck meaning the engine is towards the back. Even if you pierce the block you might stop the cooling system or damage one of the Pistons but I would bet the engine will keep going and going for minutes. A lucky shot to the ECM or fuel system might stop it.

Also, looking at the raw Muslim percentage of population in European countries presents a wildly optimistic picture. Native European populations are OLD (average age) whereas the Muslim populations are very young. The Muslims have larger families and shorter generational intervals. The Muslim percentage of population in countries like France, Germany, Sweden and the UK is going to explode over the next two decades as the natives die off and pay the Muslims to replace them.

We are going to need a lot of popcorn over the next 20 years.

I think my posts have been taken out of context. I referenced an article, and shortened one of it's longer points which indicates that the Islamic state, as voluntary as it is for some, is just as involuntary for many others. ISIS has a strategy to maintain membership and to increase its numbers, as explained in the article.

We (western countries) have had little success eradicating fundamental Islam in the world. I suggested playing nice since the wars we wage against fundemental muslims seem to have only succeeded in destabilizing the region, with overflow felt in Europe (IMHO).

I really only surmised that children who grow up western are fonder of consumer goods and comfort than they are of war and suicide. If we were to raise the next generation of muslim children in western culture, could we expect the same result?

The data in the article is from 2007.

I'm not too hung up on the exact current percentages as what we're looking at is a continuum with predictable changes in Muslim group behavior with increasing numbers.

The big picture is that European Christianity, what's left of it, is baring the neck to Islam.

I've been an atheist for most of my life but have come to realize what a catastrophe the loss of faith is for Western civilization. Muslims have a stronger belief in God and therefore a stronger belief in the righteousness of their cause. And that is all it takes.

We are going to have to return to our Christian roots to have any chance of survival. Whether God exists or not is not the question, but we need to behave as if He does.
