Fred,
An exceptionally nice gun!
1957 production from the SN.
I'm guessing that you already know that it's worth some serious money.
Yoou can post some photos and an inquiry on the Ruger forum if you want to know how much.

Thanks every one!
On Sat. the 30th of sept. I went to Collectors Gallery and they where checking in about 20 police confiscated guns. The Blackhawk was in the group. I asked them to but my name on it and I'd be back.
The day of the pumpkin shoot, Sat. one week later I got up at 4 am and loaded my van for the Great Shoot and was on the road to Collectors 80 miles away. No traffic!! I Got there at 8.30 am and they opened at 9. I bought the BLCAKHAWK 44 and NEW s&w 629-8 IN HIGHLY POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL, IN 44mag.
The S&W is going to be my carry gun. I carried it at the range Sunday and I did not know it was on my side.
