Barska 8 - 32 x 44 swat extreme tactical.... Great scope for $260!!!!!

Glad that little tid bit helped you out, I got burned on that one a while back. Looking forward to seeing it with the new stock.

BTW, thanks for the rep point...how many of those little suckers you gotta get before you get two squares under your avitar?

i could be wrong.

0-100 = one green dot
100 - 200 = two green dots

and so on.....

i think i'm going to start a post-whore's annonymous. you post, you get + rep'd

[laugh]

j/k

be yourself, for me it's the off topic, once in a while i have a serious gun question.

BTW; gangbangers operate on rep too [rolleyes]

so it's no indication of who you are. i'm actually shocked i got three dots, as i tend to disagree w / a [STRIKE]lot[/STRIKE] few of people here. [rofl]

I have that same scope and love it. My only complaint is that I put it on my 30-06 Semi and it adds a lot of weight. I think it's going to find it's way on my Remmy 700 in 308 and then put the 4x12 from that on the 06.

back on topic.

yes, i do like the scope. it has two or three more range sessions to really prove itself, but under the circumstances, it's damn near golden!

two sets of rings, multiple fumbling, and my bell & carlson stock isn't even here yet.

i'll post my targets from today, tomorrow or Saturday.

-i left them in my trunk again

honestly, i was happy with the groups... i just shoot better with rubber and low-mount scopes (i.e. 10/22 w / hogue and Mueller APV [wink] )

is that too much to ask? [laugh]

the side focus and zoon were good, below 28x, i tried it w/o the sunshade and found myself squinting at 200 yards.

it held it's zero and it is sturdy!

so far, so good

i just hate ALL of those mounting parts! i really want a one-piece mount, maybe two - piece w / rings.

right now, i have a 6 piece [rofl] and it's to high!

I have been using the following links from Midway to try to get the right rings & base the first time I order - they help, but I still end up with, well, extra parts.

Rings & Bases Help Guide

Ring Height

Ring Height Comparisons

Some manufacturers are less than forthcoming about what their mount and ring dimensions actually are. At this point, if they wont tell me what their definition of 'Medium ring' is, I'm not buying them. I have bought a couple of Burris Signature Zee rings recently - they have a plastic insert that allows for minor scope and mount misalignments, and can be replaced by offset inserts to correct for mount errors or gain more MOA of elevation.

Good luck - shooting a scope that high would drive me nuts.

yes. it's insane. [hmmm]

hence, i went to bass pro and still purchased the wrong thing! [rofl]

tell ya what though, i love savage! a remmie build will be sooooooooo easy after this.

but i may get dare devil on ya'll and order the HS Precision 10FP, in .308 and call it a day! twice the $$$ as a 700 SPS, but this is sooooo much fun! [rolleyes]

That's what I have coming next week. The McMillan was tempting but I wanted out of the box ready to go. Dumped 2 ARs to get the cash for the rifle and scope

tits!

i think a savage 10FCP (hs or macmillan) will be on my bank statement!

STOP IT! you are influencing me. LOL

what "size" are they (i.e. high, med or low?)

my quest to get that thing as low as possible with NOT end! [laugh]

edit: brand? where can i look up? i think you gave it to me here or the other thread, if that's so, i'll look it up tomorrow. i'm updating my notes now.

The SS is 42mm objective and I still have a fair amount of space between the objective bell and the barrel so the low rings may work if your objective is the same size. You could get both sets and send the low's back if they don't work.

finally got around to this:

1. it holds a zero, i have target porn in another thread

2. do NOT try to take the turrets off, i attempted to remove the turrets to put the numbers to "zero" on windage and elevation - ended up stripping the screws.

as a result, i just tried to drill through the turrets and screws, thinking i could just order new turrets... [hmmm]

i'm glad it's not Friday or Saturday, or there would be a broken scope.

Scope removed, pending a saavy way to remove these turrets and get new ones with better screws... like ones with a tiny freakin screw that strips easily...

i wanted to set the windage and elevation on "zero" - based ona 100yard zero, to have an easier time adjusting between 100 and 300 yards.

WTF?

I used a "jewelers kit" and managed to strip them, went out and got an even smaller kit, totally f***ed them up. [rolleyes] - i hope this thing lives through the weekend, trying to drill the turrets and screws out.
