Article: What to do after a defensive shooting

Thanks for the article.
I was actually thinking about this the other day.

Like what to do immediatley after a defensive shooting.
I realize you don't want to say anything to the police without a lawyer present, but do you say enough to let them know you were attacked/threatened first?
Yes I read the article, but what would you do?

Why would you stay around and make a call.
There could be others around.
Wouldn't you leave the area and make a call from a safe location?

if the threat is nuetralized, wouldn't you be fleeing the scene of a crime?

Why the heck is it every time I click in these links it has nothing to do with the listed topic.
This ones brings me to a discussion about holsters.

You should consider taking the NRA Personal Protection in the Home and Outside the Home classes. They teach you all this stuff and a lot more. You do some shooting (~3 hrs in PPIH, ~9 hrs in PPOH) but it is a lot more than a shooting class.

Disclaimer: I teach these classes, but so do plenty of other Instructors.

Thanks for posting the article. It reminded me that it is time to go over "the plan" with the wife and kids in the event of an intruder.

I think I will use daylight savings as a reminder. Change the batteries in the smoke detectors, and review readiness plans with the family.
