most of these S.R.O.s seem to be parked at schools to keep them away from the public.

The one stationed at my high school when I was there ended up gaining carnal knowledge of a student. Once the news leaked, the cop committed suicide in a state park in the town. Consequently, I'm not a terribly big fan of cops in schools. Arming teachers? Sure.
