AG rules deadly force justified in Okot case

Two officers who fatally shot a 26-year-old man on Weymouth Street in April were legally justified in using deadly force, according to a report by Attorney General Janet Mills.

David Okot was shot after he pulled his own gun from his waistband and pointed it at the officers, according to the report Mills released this afternoon.

Okot had a blood alcohol content of .266 and also had cocaine in his system as well as in his possession, the report said.
