I just pick a Seahorse 4 place gun case model # se630fp4 for $106.00 shipped.
Plano makes a Pelican type case for about $60.
I have one of the Seahorse cases like that except its configured a little differently as it has more slots for magazines but still holds four pistols. It's a great case and has the little air valve thingy. On mine, the pistol slots are designed so that the gun goes down on an angle butt up. Its a good case for semi autos but not revolvers...they'll fit 4 and 5 inchers but they don't sit in the slots very well. They fit nice View attachment 132092
Nice. My Boyt case doesn't have the three layers of solid foam that need to be cut, it just has eggcrate foam in the middle. If you don't want to custom cut the solid foam just yet, maybe you could just set it aside and replace it with a piece of eggcrate foam.
When you are ready to take the plunge into custom cutting the solid foam, an electric carving knife works great. I bought one just for that purpose. If you save the cut-out pieces, you can put them back in, swap the middle layer to the bottom, and reconfigure with the fresh piece.
Just do a youtube search on how to cut foam for a gun case. There are a bunch of helpful videos. Very simple to do.
What I dislike most about Pelican/SKB is that they require padlocks, which add a ton of weight. Seems hard to locate cases with decent integrated key locks. Here's another option: Case Club. http://www.caseclub.com
I think I have the same case you have.
