The Robot Sentinella was made by Samsung and Korea University. It fires 5.5m and goes for $200,000. It will be deployed on the South Korean border in 2007.

However it violates Isaac Asimov's Three Laws....
  1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
  2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
  3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Robots these days....

Looks like the autoturrets from Half Life are becoming a reality.

The only problem I'd have with the thing is trusting it.... even if you
could disable it remotely, what'd happen if it malfunctioned? I mean
I suppose you could drive up to it with an armored personnel carrier and see
if you get shot at. [laugh]

I think it would work great on the Mexican border as too.. problem is depending on how much ammo the things hold you'd probably have to refill the ammo hopper at an alarming rate, at least for the first month or two until word gets out.

Ah, now that I'm home I can see the video. Slick. Is it just me, or does it look like the robots in RoboCop?

As for trusting it... Hell, no! I won't trust an automated weapon until GM comes out with the Bolo Mark 1. (Thank you, Keith Laumer!)
