2010 NRA Ballot - How is Jaoquin Jackson Still on the Board?

One way to make your choice stronger is to vote only for the people you want to elect. Don't vote for the maximum number of candidates that you can, just the ones you want elected. I usually only vote for about half of the ones up for election.

Exactly. Voting for the select few who you really support beats supporting the mediocre and cluttering the board with them.

It goes beyond cluttering the board with the mediocre. If you vote for the people you really want, plus enough others to use up all your votes, you may actually help one of these extra people you vote for beat your favored candidates.

Quite true. Hence the practice of "bullet votes" to prevent the less-desirable, but more popular, from crowding out the desired candidate.

And how many C.O.P.'s are anti-gun,did you listen to the interview ?

I did listen when it first came out and just went back and listened again. And it still doesn't make sense to me. In the first part of the clip he states that as an LEO/Ranger it was his duty to protect the Consitution and that if we lost the Second then we could/would lose the rest. So the business of five rounds max just does not follow.

I just received my ballot early this week. I don't know that I'll have time to properly research all 31 names on the ballot. (Minus Mr. Jackson of course.) Is there an official or unofficial list of "NES approved" candidates that I could focus on?

Any such "list" you see published would quite probably be copied from another group which has vetted candidates to their particular standards. This does not include single candidate recommendations such as "I know Joe Blow and think he would be a good candidate".

This needs a bump. If you're planning to vote but haven't put in in the mail yet, now's the time. Ballots need to be in, not just postmarked, by the 25th.

You could do worse than to just take Jeff Knox's recommendations. (Top link.) Below that are a bunch of other recommendations from other groups, in rough order of how interesting and useful they looked.

I am very curious what y'all from Rhode Island think of Donn DiBiasio. He's one candidate that Knox doesn't like, but on the flip side I'm interested in supporting people who understand my corner of the country. Comments?
