Well bought a nice 99% eddystone 1917 from member here early last year, thats been sorta like the community bike. Since then Traded it once to Ash, ended up buying it back cause there was something about the rifle I liked. I then redid the stock as the original arsenal refinish had runs from some cleaner in the past. Came out ok, but not quite right but alot better. THEN ended up trading it to Brian at B&K for a very nice (and fun!) AR15. After a few weeks had that voice in back of my head once again nagging me to get it back, so went down and snagged it back. NOW that I know its not leaving the collection again, was sent out to my buddy for comeplete redoing to finish my original plans for it as the only thing that irked me was the WWII replacement barrel, that seemed in the white compared to rest of the gun. So for as wonderful and accurate as it shoots (LOVE new guaging HS WWII barrels), figure make it look just as good. Will post pics of before and after when it returns.

This is her when first brought home

Then this is after stock refinish (and better camera). Barrel pic can see looks like its stainless steel due to thin park finish

yeah thats another reason was being sent to be reblued. the wear patern on the rear sight, and the light area on bridge of receiver where they oftened the metal to stamp there.

when 1917s where 20 bucks........how hard was it to save up 20 bucks. I came across some old mortgage papers from my fathers junk......whopping 107.34 a month
