Hey folks,

So I just recently purchased a Ruger Sr1911 and so far am happy. It was honestly a consolation prize for me. I had an ak 47 on layaway on gunbroker. I had $100 left to pay. That was on 07/19....... Anyway I was able to transfer the funds over to the Ruger. I've changed out the mainspring housing and the grips so far but I was looking to have some other work done on it (new sights, front strap checkering, forward slide serrations, etc)

any recommendations for a good 1911 gunsmith? Preferably not too far from the Boston area.

Thanks!!

I have a Gun in with Greg right now. Can't wait to get my hands back on it.

There is also business end customs in Peabody (Lou Biondo).

Either one of these guys can help you.

all above are great recs. also would suggest Tim Gostling at Gartman Arms in Wrentham. he does great work.

Have used Lou at Business End Customs and was very happy with the work. Was done when he said it would be, did what we agreed on and charged what he said he would.
