I'm in the process of building a 1919a4 .308 and so far I have everything all ready to build. The only thing I'm missing is parkerizing equipment. Is there anyone local who does this at a reasonable price? Has anyone done the homemade method? How did it turn out?

Have you considered other options?

- Leave as is and cold blue/duracoat the RSP.
- Do you have an Izzy? Maybe try and match the original paint?
- Aluma Hyde with "Dark Parkerizing"

Not sure why everyone had to Parkerize their 1919A4.

None of the Izzy guns were painted, they were all parkerized just like they came from the original factory. I've seen and built a slew of them and haven't seen a painted one yet.

Parkerizing isn't difficult, its easier than and more uniform than painting or blueing and more durable.

I've done the at home parkerizing in a 5 gal. plastic bucket, and capped PVC pipes with a slot in the top. The temps involved in parkerizing are low, so unless you need the stainless tank for another application or are planning on going into production, plastic might be your friend.
