I just bought my first beretta 92fs and I am interested in getting wooden grips for it. But, I had this idea to make my own and I was curious to see if anyone has ever done this. I imagine it will be way enough if I use the stock grips as a guide. This way I could use whatever wood I wanted and also contour them how I want.

Easy, fun, and enjoyable for any kind of semi-experienced amateur woodworker. After you make your first set and somehow fail to screw it up, you'll wonder why people pay $85 or so for someone else to make them.
