What to buy.........

Hey all, I'm looking to pick up a couple more milsurp guns and I want to know some opinions on which ones are preferable.

These are what I'm thinking of picking up:

1) K31
2) SKS
3)AK

I know, I know, the SKS and AK are discussed all the time here, but my head spins with all the different models and manufacturers. As far as the SKS and AK go, which make/model are preferable? I have some understanding of SKS's, but as far as AK's go, I have no idea.

One of the shops close to me has a SAR-1. Any good?

I'll probably lean toward picking up a SKS and AK, since they're both 7.62x39


I am close to Bron's Classic Firearms, so he'll have 'em, and I am in Easton almost every weekend, so Zero Hour is always an option.

Id probably lean towards the AK. I don't know much about models and manufacturers, but I do know that you have a wide choice ranging from the budget models to the fine fit and finish models. I would choose a budget first and decide what exactly you are looking for. Hopefully someone else can give you more specifics.

Its probably the best Romanian AK variant out there.

One thing to consider if you're thinking K31 is availability of 7.5x55 ammo.

I say go to a shop fondle a few of the guns you want then make up your mind, but beware that is the way I ended up with 2 arisakas when I used to hate them.

Gotta get yourself at least on K31 == can be had for less than $200 shipped if you have your C&R.
