We are talking about raising the initiation fee at our club and I was wondering what clubs throughout New England charge. Currently dues ours $100 a year and initiation is $25. We have a club house (almost have a bathroom) and one 50 yard outdoor range.

Any info would be great as a guide.

Thanks,

Steve

At Reading R&R its $150.-/yr. & 200.- initiation fee IIRC.
They have a Work Incentive Program. If you help out at work days or family day or a number of other things you get $5.-/hr. off your membership fee up to $50.-.

I'm not really sure what you are trying to say, but I enjoyed the chuckle!

A good laugh

I really know nothing about shotgun sports but I thought he meant a voice activated clay release...He also might have meant a little wooden person that talks with the aid of a human....either might be right.. :p

Is that like Pool Boys?

A Trap Boy loads the trap machine, while sitting in the Trap House, which is downrange. It's only done when using an older machine that doesn't have a loading portion.

For those who ask, a ventriloqist is a brand name of a voice activated trap release. Kind of easier to say one word than four. And if you're looking for pool boys, see if there is a club in P-town.

Voice Trap

That's what I thought it was. They just installed one at Major Waldron but they call it a Voice Activated Release. [shock]

Thank you, I had never heard the term regarding shooting. I also haven't shot skeet/trap since at least 1992.

I've only seen them at the larger clubs/venues where there'll be ATA/NSSA shoots. Very handy (and a bit pricey), but are quite sensitive. Best part about them is that you can't get 'short-pulled.' Bad part about them is that if you learn to shoot only with them, I don't think it would be easy to adjust your shooting style in the event of human error. Scores and ratings could go down.

Thanks and I already do. the Gunshow postings alone are a much needed resource. This site is definitely worth a daily read.
