What did you do in the reloading room recently?

Borrowed a Chrono and did some testing on my reloads between revolver and rifle.

38 with cast rnfp 158 grain 3.5 grains bullseye went from 687 in revolver to 938 rifle

38 with jsp 158 grain 9 grains 2400 went from 741 revolver to only 783 rifle which was a surprise I didn't get much more velocity. Learned something there

357 with jsp 158 grain 12.7 2400 went from 1043 in the revolver to 1449 in the rifle which is a good jump in velocity.

357 with 125 grain jsp 22.3 grains h110 went from 1277 revolver to 1713 rifle.

Deviation for all rounds was max 120 fps. Is that decent?

45acp cast 200 grain swc 4.7 grains bullseye i got 839fps

45acp plated 200 grain swc 4.7 grains bullseye i got 821 fps

Any critiques are welcomed.

Nice. I really need to chrono my 357’s out of the Marlin. With 14.5 gr of 2400 I suspect they must be at 1800 FPS.
Maybe that’s what I can do at the range today.

I was getting 1450 fps with 12.7 grains 2400 with the Henry.

1993 with a 125 jhp out of the rifle is great. I may start pushing the 2400 powder up a bit from 12.7 grains and see where I get with a 158 grain projos.

<---- prepping likes it's my second job , little did I know how much I remember what Uncle Sam actually taught me OOOOOOOOO so many years ago. I don't think hiding under my 5th grade school desk is going to be of any value in this crisis , like it was during That Cuban Missile one back in 62. We stood at the edge of the abyss, and never waivered or fell in, this time we all may get pushed in by many who are trying to outrun it.

ive been inspecting cases and have a seperate bin for one with media in flash hole so when im done sorting gonna try sifting aggressively one more time see if any more comes out. I bought some dillon corn cob as i had a gift card wanted to use up wondering if the size just isnt a good match for my 9mm cases.

I found Dillon corn media to be too fine.

Hmm never used Dillon media before.

Why depriming before you tumble?

If you're going to handle/inspect you should create a quick remedy for when its still in your hand instead of separation to pick it up again later. I bought some small motors and mounted a primer pocket and flash hole tool to them. I'll post a pic when I get downstairs to the bench later.

Nope never used Dillion, I can buy media by the 5 gal pail from the Manufacturer right in the next town. Corn cob media from Clint Sales, Elliot St., Beverly Ma.
Are they still up and running? I called them a few months back and the person I spoke to had just come back from surgery. She said she would call back. I emailed and she said she was behind. Then never got back to me. Hoping all is well over there as she was always super helpful in getting media shipped to me.

He’s not depriming prior to cleaning. Apparently the media is getting stuck from the top side of the flash hole

start casting some bullets with the molds from WEGMAN

I've shot hundreds of rounds made from cases with media in the flash holes and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference as far as I can tell.

I used some of those 30-06 cases i tumbled while deprimed for a few matches and my scores were consistent with other scores with factory ammo and other handloads that were confirmed to not have any blockages.

Shoot 'em and don't waste your time picking it out. The media will come out when you fire the round...you can trust me on that :D

Half of this shit with reloading is voodoo, I swear to it. All these queers out there 'neck turning' and confirming the liquid volume of their cases need to stop making youtube videos and get to the range.

@mac1911 even got me to think twice about cleaning my brass!

I've never cleaned, reamed, or uniformed a primer pocket in the few years I've been reloading. (i DO swage military brass, of course)

I've found that the best thing you can do to improve accuracy...is reload as many cartridges as possible and get yo' ass to the range and shoot them!

It'll come out when you deprime. Here is the primer pocket setup I have for when I'm feeling 100% analysis about reloading precision rounds. For the record I don't think it provides any better results from the ammo, but it increases my confidence. The switches are momentary.

The tools are:

1) chamfer bit - kissing .308 mouths for internal chamfer consistency. I actually did see an improvement in consistency loading Barnes TTSX.

2) RCBS Primer Pocket uniformer, small rifle

3) Flash hole deburring tool (I think Lyman). Originally I bought it as a hand tool to clear media because I was depriming first.
