I used to pack my vehicle with 5 or 6 guns and 4 or 5 different types of ammo too. Yes it gets old. Now I'm plenty happy to toss one gun in a bag and go to the club. I actually find that more enjoyable and relaxing.my ammo lineup would be too boring, here's why:
I felt the same way until sometime in early 2015 when I realized my range trips were becoming an exercise in ammo accounting. what was once fun had become tedious. after my miniature nervous breakdown, I got out of every chambering except 22LR, 9mm, 223, 308 and occasional playing with 44 mag, 45-70. i used to blow so much $$ stocking 300 blk, 5.45, 7.62R, 7.62x54, 8mm mauser, .30-06, 10mm, 357sig, 45acp, 380, 17hmr, 357mag, 38 sp, 12g slugs. hell even .40 S&W if the price was good I would buy it, and we all know that .40 S&W has terminal aids. so that should help explain my thinking at the time. nowadays i find my gun hobby less stressful having restricted the # of chamberings I am allowed to enjoy.
also one day I shot an entire mag of 9mm through a glock 32 (357 sig) and wondered why that 357sig ammo felt so weak. it was an eye opener that i might be taking too many different ammo's to the range!
