I moved to Pittsfield with in the last year, and have been trying to find a decent club. My boss is dragging his feet, so I really just need some one to tell me what would be good to go with. I would like a decent size rifle range and some pistol ranges. Indoor out door does not really matter.

Thanks

Your best bet will be the Lee Sportsman's Club. The Lenox Sportsman's Club is nice if you want to shoot pistol or rimfire rifles inside (24hrs). The is also one in Pittsfield but its been rumored to have been closed and is now a secret society type thing because NO ONE will give me info on how to join! Anyway, MassMark will be here shortly to chime in on how great the Lee club is...I haven't been in years.

Oh yeah, welcome to Pittsfield... and how/why did you end up here? [laugh]

Ok thank you very much... Sounds good to me, I just need to get out shooting more.

I came to Pittsfield to work at Flynn's and get away from Boston for awhile. Thanks again

Westfield Sportsman's Club is another option, but from Pittsfield it's probably close to an hour drive. 300yd rifle range, a bunch of other ranges, a fair number of regular competitions. They have some overly restrictive rules on visiting shooters, but it is a nice club. I think I've been there for 10 years or so, now. I'm a member of Worthington Rod & Gun, too, but other than the price and the 5 minute drive from my house, it's one step up from shooting in a sandpit.

Lee only has a 50ft indoor pistol range. Not 50yrds. They are in the process of building a separate 25yrd outdoor pistol range. Should be nice once it is completed.
The clubs in Berkshire county are pretty low key compared to the clubs in the the east. They don't have the amenities of larger clubs but then you are not paying $300 yearly memberships fees. Must are geared towards hunters.
