Every bill that does not repeal an existing law IS necessarily bad.

Note that this is not limited to laws pertaining to gun control.

As a society we have lost our common sense. We don't need a law to control each and every aspect of our daily lives.

The Secret Service made their concerns known about the private possession of .50 BMG rifles and how they could fall into the hands of terrorists, who may try to use them to assassinate the POTUS or other VIPs. That is all the liberal gun-banning politicians needed to hear. They ran with it.
