Actually, MUCH more than pics. Those can easily be faked now. And anything out of that... laundromat is dubious from the get go.Pics or didn't happen
@Broc could do this standing on his head with his 6.5.2.3 miles used to be mortar/artillery/beltfed with tracers ranges......rifles have come a long way.
I didn't want to brag, but yes.@Broc could do this standing on his head with his 6.5.
About 3.7 seconds.I don’t see how this is even possible. How long would the bullet be in flight for?
Seems like it should be a lot longer.About 3.7 seconds.
Not disagreeing, but maybe they used something like this:I am calling bullshit.
Even with the extra killy 88 magnum that the Ukranian used, with the scope maxed out, the target would not be visible in the field of view.
So, are we to believe the sniper acquired his target, then aimed 100ft over his head? When he pulled the trigger, the target was not visible through the scope?
Probably reported the shot in kilometers and it was mistakenly reported as miles, and they ran with it. "Nice shot Vasily"
I am wondering how he even saw the person. I want to know the magnification of his scope.I am calling bullshit.

That may be true, but the original article seems pretty sure he was using the "Horizon's Lord" anti-materiel rifle in 12.7x114HL, which is itself a 14.5x114mm case necked down to .50 caliber. In response to a question, the [unknown] vet on the American Volunteer blog stated this is the UAF sniper rifle of choice.
Zbroyar Z-10, a semi-automatic 7.62×51mm NATO sniper rifle, nomenclature UAR-10.
Similar to the AR-10, claimed maximum effective range is 1,200 meters. This is a heroic range for that cartridge, with others specifying a range of 800 meters - still a long walk!
Ukraine Adopts New Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle the UAR-10 -
Ukraine's armed forces have adopted a new semi-automatic sniper rifle to replace the venerable SVD. The Zbroyar Z-10 has been adopted as the UR-10www.thefirearmblog.com
Probably one of those import jobbies that are "just as good" as the big brands. Maybe an Arken... or a Barska?
It's possible, just not likely.
I'm not doubting the shot was made, but the probably off making it was very low.
As always, my reply is "do it twice in a row; then I'll be impressed".
Thats what they wrote. Don’t know UAF TO&E but U.S. Army Sniper groups have both 7.62 and .50BMG, mission-specific.That may be true, but the original article seems pretty sure he was using the "Horizon's Lord" anti-materiel rifle in 12.7x114HL, which is itself a 14.5x114mm case necked down to .50 caliber.
Whether 2.3 km or 2.3 mi, it's a heck of a way to "reach out and touch someone."
I once found out the length of time the bullet was in flight for a long range shot.I don’t see how this is even possible. How long would the bullet be in flight for?
Bless your heart. So our Billions upon billions of dollars we gave them bought us a great tale of an amazing shot from a country that's known for being one of the most corrupt in the world... Do I have that right?
In our tank tables, the longest shot was 2,400 meters. The longest tank kill on record is 4,700 meters (15,211 feet).2.3 miles used to be mortar/artillery/beltfed with tracers ranges......rifles have come a long way.
I just pulled off my last Bartlein barrel last spring. We used to buy them out of the back of Brady's truck out at Camp Perry for a decent price ($400 I think?).Never heard of Bartlein Barrels before. Jackson, Wisconsin.
