The poor bomb maker wasn't warned!!!

LONDON, ENGLAND: A British man
shot by police has revealed that officers
did not warn him before opening fire
during a raid on his London home.

East London police raided the home of
Mohammed Abdul Kahar, 23, on June 2
on suspicion he was constructing a chemical
bomb.

Kahar claims the officer who shot him
simply looked at him, aimed his weapon,
and fired.

"We both had eye contact, he shot me
straight away," Mohammed Abdul Kahar,
23, told a news conference. "I just saw an
orange spark and a big bang. I flew into
the wall, slipped down. There was blood
coming down my chest. I knew I was
shot."

Kahar was later released without charge.

Sounds like he wasn't doing anything illegal. [thinking]

Hard to tell from the lack of details (he said vs I said), but it sounded like a SWAT entry, and there is usually (at least in this country) a process of vetting the information before the raid.

I didn't think the Bobbies had guns.

British Police have their equivalent of SWAT and an increasing number of officers are trained to use guns but they have to keep them locked in the car until they get permission (from the equivalent of the city's chief of police).

In this case the entry was probably done by SO13 (the Anti-Terrorist branch of the London Metropolitan Police).

David Hardy has a post today noting that, while burglars are being routinely released with a warning not to do it again, a couple of citizens who were discovered to have a "large" amount of ammunition (an amazing total of 44 cartridges), were just sentenced to 18 months and 3 years.

Churchill is dead; Chamberlain rules. [sad]
