I was in a LGS on Saturday. About 4 other guys there looking and talking. I just stopped in with 2 of my granddaughters (7 and 13) to see what was new...just a quick stop. One of the guys was talking about new gun laws being considered in Ma. An older guy walked thru the door and picked up on the conversation, saying, "I've looked at these laws and I don't see anything so bad about them." [angry]

I ushered my grandkids out quickly before the guys in the store told him what they were thinking about him and his laws. I had nothing to add to what they were telling him and I didn't want my granddaughters in the path of the fire.

How can WE (gun owners) be so frikking stupid?

I'm hearing the same talk about HB 1589 in NH, you know the law that would effectively ban any firearm sale between individuals? "It's not THAT bad" or "I never sold one to anybody anyway", etc.

Sometimes we're are own worst enemy.

FUDDs will be FUDDs.
Beat me to it.

I was shooting trap at the holliston range one day, and went in for lunch. There was a guy in there (post sandy hook) who was talking about blah blah why do you need more than 10 rounds, I dont see why its a big deal.

To which I piped up saying "criminals follow laws right?" --tried to explain the whole "these laws only affect law abiding citizens..." but it went right over his head. Then this 70+ year old guy proceeds to take his 1911 out of his holster and sweep everyone in the room before clearing the pistol. He was trying to show "if i had 10 in here it's not hard to change the mag" then proceeded to take 10 seconds to change the mag.

I walked out

Simple. WE care about the second amendment and know its MORE than having a gun for duck hunting.

THEY

well, they don't.

Well normally I would say thank god for 2A and that it's not up to them to decide BUT since everyone wants to decide what others can and can't do is why we are going down this slippery slope. The biggest problem here is the willingness to compromise. It's funny how there's no compromise on other rights and that they must be extended to every person but god forbid the same rules apply to the 2nd. Until the masses of gun owners wake up and realize that there is no ground to give up we will have this problem.

that kind of hard-core ignorance is crushing, gun owners are gun owners' worst enemy. some people simply refuse to be educated, or prefer to live in the fog of ignorance and the "they ain't gonna take my guns!" mindset, but if push came to shove they'd be the first ones in line to voluntarily surrender their over/unders.

At some point we must follow the laws of our conscience, not of our Governments...

I suspect that some new bills introduced in VT are going to be met with similar support. One new bill aims to make it easier to take firearms from anybody with a domestic complaint against them, and another bill to establish storage and transfer fees for said individuals to get them back. I suspect that with all the liberal morons in the state, combined with the "you support wife beaters if you oppose this" mentality, that they're going to pass.

"If, then" statements should be deemed grammatically incorrect and on par with swear words. They have no place in rational discussions.

Look at those in CT lining up to register. Hell there we're members in here practically pissing themselves if their paperwork would be accepted in time.

Theres a reason for oath keepers and 3%ers. This sadly will not be won by the masses as we would like. These same fools don't realize that they are literally selling themselves down river. If all gun owners stuck together there would be zero talk of infringing or confiscation.

There's a few Liberals at my club, I just don't get how somebody is ok with working hard to support the sloths and freeloaders in this country....

The FUDDS in my own opinion are no different than the left wing socialist moonbats in their ability to look down their noses and tell people what is good for them! Their idea is that as long as nobody is after their precious over under shotgun they use two times a month to shoot trap then they have no problem with any new gun laws. Their shotgun has the same value to them as a set of golf clubs does to the liberal socialite! I shoot trap and enjoy it but my fire arms are a symbol of independence, self reliance, and FREEDOM! **** THE FUDDS!

Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy......Winston Churchill

The worst are the libs who complain about the freeloaders....then vote Democrat again. My brother in law agrees with conservatives on 80% of the issues but still religiously votes Democrat because that's what his family does. Too many people in this part of the country close their eyes and think they are pulling the handle for JFK still.

Ironically I think a lot of these need-more-laws fudds are the same idiots that think they are good to go with their life time FID and pistol in their glove box

stupidly consistent I guess

Here's a question:

Is a FUDD a person who simply accepts gun laws and that's that, or a gun owner who's subversive from within and supports gun control? I just want to know the precise meaning.

I always thought it referred to Elmer Fudd. So, somebody who only wants to use his gun to hunt.

I flat out lie to those people
"did you hear the latest? firearms above .41 caliber (read all shotguns) are being classified as assault weapons and have to be stored at the club" "oh yeah, they are voting on it next week" "call your reps and tell them you oppose xxxx" (give them a current anti gun bill)

That just seems morally wrong to me. We're supposed to be countering the antis with truth and facts, not giving our own side lies and deceit.

Have you heard about the 'ghost gun'? It fires a 30 round magazine clip in 1/2 second that only targets children.

Screw it, use their own playbook against them.

To me, A FUDD is more of an attitude. A FUDD doesn't worry about laws that don't appear to affect the types of guns he currently owns. Because he can't see the need for anything other than the types of guns he uses, he doesn't get upset over laws that he thinks won't affect him.

He is very wrong. The people that are currently going after those "unnecessary" guns will eventually go after his. The question is not "if" but "when." I believe most FUDDs are simply misguided and shortsighted, but some are truly evil, like Rosenthal and Biden. None of them are friends of liberty.

Very well said. My father was a fudd when i was younger. Id like to say it was me that turned him around but i think it was the realization that these law makers will never stop until all legal gun ownership is gone and all our freedoms along with it.

Eventually these fudds will understand but some of them wont come around until they are at the door pulling that double barrel pheasant gun out of their hands

A fudd is somebody who believes that so called reasonable restrictions on our 2nd amendment rights are OK. Gun ownership is only appropriate if it fits within their subjective view of what's reasonable (usually hunting, trap shooting, and home defense). In other words, they're missing the point.
