Take a look at these. They look pretty cool, and the theory makes sense but has anyone had any experience with these sights? What are some pro's and con's about it.

I've seen them before. I think it's kind of a gimmick, and I would bet that in a high stress situation it would make for a hard perfect sight alignment.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but when the chips are down, give me a post and a notch.

I thought the same thing. My main concern was the sight getting caught the holster, they are pointed and could easily catch on the fibers of a holster, or your pants. Traditional sights dont have that problem. I think it's designed for sight acquisition, rather than accuracy which is sufficient in a life or death situation

The Steyr M-A1 has these kinds of sights... on the particular gun
I was shooting, I found that while they were fast, the practical
accuracy wasn't that wonderful. It was too easy to mash the
front into the rear visually.

And at the end of the day, I found my accuracy with the gun was
more affected by trigger control than anything else.

I've found that it's hard to beat simpler, more practical sight
systems... it's hard to beat a mono-dot with a notched rear type
sight, etc. Course, everyone is different.... one sight someone
likes, someone else will hate, etc.

The Steyr sights are a bit different. Same shape of the rear sight, but you line them up in a more traditional manner.

You're right, they are very different! I must be losing my mind, I
only fired the M-A1 about 3 weeks ago!
