I just got a first edition of the new Standard Catalog of Colts firearms.

I had been e mailing Frosty about this book coming out, and rather than repeat my message, I thought I'd just paste our conversation in this thread.

Frosty,
I got a notice today from Amazon.com that my copy of the new Colt Catalog was shipped today, and due here in 5 to 7 days.

Just giving you a heads up if you hadn't ordered yet.

Frosty,

Frosty, my copy came in today just as the snow started to fall around here.

The book is excellent quality design, content and printing.

It's lacks the wealth of minute details the SCSW has after two editions, but it does have a good overview of the Colt company and its history back to when Sam Colt was 14.

Some of the most interesting parts I've read so far are the introduction and reason for publishing.

They refer to Jim Supica's Arm Chair Gun Show often for prices.

From what I see, the price guides are on the very low side.

The photography is excellent, but nowhere near as informative of variations, models and changes, as the SCSW.

It's worth the $29.95 I'd say, but glad I got it for $19.95.

See you around Frosty
