Recently we had to travel to Indiana for a memorial service for my cousin. After the service my wife and I went to Chicago and spent the day and night with friends. On the way home I forced my wife to go to the Hammond Indiana Cabela's with me - so I could see first hand, what was in their gun library...I was not disappointed; and settled on a 1936 Vintage (although you can't tell from the looks of it) Colt Officer's Model Target .38 Special, 6" Heavy Barrel. It has a set of Sanderson Stocks on it as well. It will go nicely with the Smith and Wesson Pre-Model 17, 5 Screw K22, 6" that I recently bought as well; and I am planning do to a side by side shooting comparison between the S&W and the Colt .22 lr Officer's Model Target that I already have...Here they are:

Colt .38 Special Officers Model Target (circa 1936)

Smith and Wesson Pre-Model 17 .22 LR K-22

Colt .22 LR Officers Model Target (circa 1948)

All fine revolvers but do that K 22 a favor and shop for some new shoes for it.
