Hello! New member, first time on. Looking for some advise. Just came across a Sako A V action in great condition. Never built my own gun before. Seems nows the time. This is a long action in the 30 cal range and I'm undecided about the caliber. It will be a hunting rifle -elk, bear- 30-06? any suggestions?

30-06 would be a good choice, but if it's going to be a custom build, you can go with whatever you want. I would go with something a little more out of the ordinary.
Personally, my choice for an elk/bear rifle would be 35 Whelen Ackley Improved (assuming you will be handloading).
