One issue you may want to be aware of is that a company called "Mercury-Hermes" is now importing these Saiga rifles into the USA instead of the "Russian American Armory" or "RAA".
Since there were a lot of receivers already manufactured with RAA import markings, those receivers had to be altered to reflect the new USA importer.
On these "changeover" guns, you will see a small "Velcro-like" obliteration of the original RAA markings on the right side. The new Mercury-Hermes markings were then placed on the left side.
Some folks find the "Velcro-like" obliteration of the original RAA markings to be aesthetically objectionable to a greater or lesser degree. Others don't seem to have any problem with it. Some even speculate that these "changeover" rifles will someday be more valuable. Others say that is total BS.
One must assume that eventually all of the old RAA-marked receivers will be used up and that new Mercury-Hermes marked receivers will appear without the obliteration.
It's just one issue to be aware of when shopping for a Saiga rifle. It may or may not affect your interest in buying at this time.
