S&W 500 w/1" barrel

If you don't hit your target with the bullet, you'll just fry it with the ball of fire out of the muzzle.

It would be intersting to see someone shoot it, but I'll pass.

BAH, who needs Photoshop....

John Ross (Yes, that John Ross) had this one built for CCW:

4", removed the compensator, changed the grips to non-padded Badger 'boot' grips to prevent any sticky rubber from snagging.

I suppose with .500 Specials, it's not too bad, but with full bore .500 Magnums? OUCH!

Then again, Mr. Ross likes to handload stuff like this:

Powder Gr. 42
Culver Setting 78
Powder Type WC680
Primer CCI 250
Bullet Weight 400
Bullet Profile Semi-Pointed
Bullet Length .900"
Shank In Case .200"
Overall Length 2.320"
Velocity 1920 feet per second
Energy 3271 ft lbs.

and:

Powder Gr. 46
Culver Setting 77
Powder Type WC680
Primer WLRM
Bullet Weight 510
Bullet Profile Semi-Pointed
Bullet Length 1.000"
Shank In Case .300"
Overall Length 2.320"
Velocity 1700 feet per second
Energy 3269 ft lbs.

Of course, all the balistics data is out of his 8 3/8" barrel, so I doubt he goes shooing that stuff out of a wood gripped 'carry' gun. (^_^)

Ouch. Not something I'd really like to fire - I suspect that it'd approach Jay's little .357 for sheer unpleasantness when firing.

Now, the 4" barrelled .500 with the rubber grips... THAT'S fun.
