rifle from MA to CT as gift

What is necessary to bring a rifle from MA to CT as a gift?

Do I purchase it and then do a transfer when there? I'd rather actually GIVE it to the person in person, as a surprise, rather than go to a shop. If I could do the paperwork ahead of time, that would be swell. The rifle will most likely be a Mosin Nagant.

You are going to need to do it at a CT FFL...and if the person does not have a Pistol Permit/Eligibility Cert/Hunting License/LEO they will need to wait 14 days before getting it...

That being said you can bring it to them to look at it.surprise them..and then go to FFL After...
