Removing spring in Springfield 1911 Factory Mag

Can someone tell me how to remove this properly so I do not damage. The bottom appears to be permanently sealed. I have a couple after market mags I took the bottoms off of, need to stretch out the springs. I would like to do the same for the factory mag, but again, the bottom seems sealed and I don't want to damage it. Thanks.

You just have to use a pen to push the follower down, put an open paper clip into one of the witness holes on the side of the mag to hold the spring back, then remove the follower, turn the magazine upside down onto a surface you don't mind that would get scratched, and pull the paper clip out.
