refinishing beat up WASR (updated with finished photos)

I recently acquired a beat up WASR. I decided to refinish the furniture and dura coat the rest.

Tung oil process:

After stripping and sanding with medium/fine grit used 100% tung oil (not other mixed stuff). 5 applications between drying with 0000 steel wool buff in between each application.
 
Looks great, nice work! The Duacoat looks great and the tung oil looks so much better than the previous finish.

I love tung oil - whenever there's a blemish that you want to fix, you can just whack it with some #0000 and apply a few more coats, and you're good to go. [grin]
 
It was parkerized so no prep was needed except to degrease. They provide a spray on degreaser that doesn't leave a residue. I did rough up the plastic trigger a bit.
