What's the advantage of flight control in the house at 10 to 15 feet in the house?

A tighter pattern is better, simple as that. At ten yards most regular buckshot will cover like 8" or more, which really opens up the possibility of fliers.

Then why are you starting with birdshot...?

Birdshot #7-8-9, # 6 is for rabbits and such and at 21ft and less that's still a 1 once mass hitting at +/- 1300 fps

I just don't see where this will make a difference. Your flight control will be virtually a slug.

The three pages of this thread are hilarious. Like any of y'all are going to have the poise and composure to think for a second about your backstop when someone kicks in your front door at 3AM. You're going to take your first available shot so long as you see no one else in the room and if it doesn't contact a stud to slow it down it will wizz through drywall JHP or not. If that concerns you then birdshot/turkey shot is the safest most effective alternative. But that may not stop Joe intruder

That's why we're Monday morning quarterbacking BEFORE it reaches that point. Also, you can say "Fire Away, consequences be damned", until after the fact that your neighbor gets shot and you ARE damned.

ETA: Especially for those of you in MA, where even bad words that hurt the attackers feelings will probably get you locked up.
