Q shows

both. depends on the dealers attending. think of it as a convention of gun dealers. whatever they want to bring from thier inventory they do. used or new, accesorys etc...

gun show

I make it a point to have a list and research prices both new and used before buying at a show. They are called shows and not sales for a reason!
While it is true there are good and rare things to be found. It is also true there are many many overpriced things at these shows. Buyer be ware.

If a MA Resident with proper LTC/FID, you can buy any (legal to own) gun from a MA FFL ONLY at a MA gun show and bring it home with you.

Per Fed Law, non-MA FFLs can NOT do ANY transfers at a MA gun show. They frequently work around this by transferring it to a MA FFL who then does the paperwork with the buyer.

A MA Resident with proper license can buy any (legal to own) long gun from a FFL anywhere in the US (assuming no state laws to the contrary, MA is OK) and bring it home with them.

Private Sales are restricted by Fed Law to only those where both buyer and seller are residents of the same state.

Do vendors post that they are non MA FFL's

No, but BATFE Regs require them to post their FFL conspicuously so you can look and see. Most are "regulars" and have pre-arranged with MA FFLs to do their deals for them. Occasionally you'll see a sign "no sales except to FFLs" by an out of state dealer with "no friends".
