Looking to get a collapsible stock for an AR15 lower. I don't want it pinned in a "std" position until I test it out. Is it legal for me to own a collapsible stock as long as when the AR is assembled it's pinned?

I did a search and couldn't find this answer.

I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to post it so thanks Lugnut. I also want to test it out before I get it pinned in an uncomfortable position. I have yet to figure out how to "test" it without mounting it haha. Also, can you pin it yourself with some locktite, jb weld, gorilla glue, etc?

I've heard that Mass law allows a collapsible stock as long as it is pinned and not adjustable by the user without tools. Now again this is just what i've heard so take it with a grain of salt.

If I was paranoid, I would be thinking "constructive possession."
If I was not in MA, I wouldn't need to be paranoid.

"Constructive murderer" You never have intended to murder someone, but you are driving around a deadly weapon every day!
