Seeing that my daughter lives in central PA and I make the pilgrimage through that state oh so many times a year. On a whim, Last week, I decided to apply for their non- res license. 5 year license for $26. Not bad, I guess. Checked my bank online this morning and the check was cashed and in the mail this afternoon was the license. Damn!! 1 week turn around! How can you beat that. On the same day, I mailed out my NH and from the stories I'm reading, you're waiting upwards of 2 months. Heck, if anyone's interested in a quick license, go for it.

Wow that is funny, I did the same exact thing. The PA permit came in yesterday and I am now waiting on my NH permit.

I'm curious I just read the application. Its seems very simple.

What did you check off for a reason? Just self-defense or did you check other and write all lawful purposes [laugh]

I am a PA native now trapped behind enemy lines here in the "Sheeple's Socialist Republic". I've had my PA LTC for many years and always carry back home as my family lives in rural northeast PA and most every one will own firearms.
You'll have no trouble getting or renewing a PA license, just list "all legal activities" as your reason, and it's a must if you want to hunt with a pistol.
I hunt PA every year and go with either a handgun or a flintlock.
Too bad the non-resident hunting licenses are as cheap.
PA has a reciprical agreement with NH so you guys up there are good to go.

It might be a shock for the Mass natives who have never lived in a "Free State" that actually has a functional two party democracy to deal with some of these ideas.

I just moved from Centre county. All of PA is shall-issue but some sherrif's make you wait the 45 days. Not Centre county though, you walk up to the sheriff's office and you are out the door within 10 min with license in hand when you are a resident.
