Optics for my AR-15

For small screws, nuts and bolts, I've always just did by feel and not go gorilla on them. The blue loctite is not super tight. If it is, then Heat it up and it should come loose.

The rings are cut to meet the scope's 30mm diameter so I gather a good tightening can only tighten so far, eh?

There are two types of Loctite.

Blue Loctite can be disassembled normally (with a little extra effort). Red is "permanent" though you can still get them apart with some heroics.

then theres gun loctite "purple" i believe

Yea I have an inlb screw driver I would use.

Definitely blue loctite. That's more than enough.

I have a tendency to overtighten things - it's not tight until I feel like it's tight. Even I would go pretty easy on those bolts.

Any recommendations for a "budget" scope for up to 150 yards. Having 2 kids under 2 doesn't leave much funds for toys for myself.

I have taken chances with older model scopes used sometimes new old stock.
Japan made models of years past are generally very nice.
I have a old tasco 3x9 or 4x12 I forget that I snagged off eBay for 20$ it's still going strong
