OK-Glock related question

I can't believe I'm actually eating Lima beans and thinking about a Glock.

Anyway, is there a site to determine which generation the Glocks are?
I assume it is a serial #

Hey I finally watched Friend of EC last night..interesting

Casual look at generations:

Gen 1 - pebble finish around the grip with no finger grooves or checkering.

Gen 2 - " Grenade " checkering on front and back straps. Pebble finish on side grips.

Gen 3 - Finger grooves added to front strap and has checkering between grooves. Thumb indentations on both sides of grip area at the top.

There will be some variations on that based on serial number and if the gun went to the factory for repair/replacement that had to have the serial # tag removed/replaced. Not sure exactly how that goes so I could be wrong...

( There is a pin difference too - I'll let Glocktalk do the walking for that one...)
