NYT: I Hunt, but the N.R.A. Isn’t for Me

Reuben you're no more mature in your thinking than Lily Raff McCaulou and obviously a product of our indoctrination camps (aka Public School System) where the Constitution isn't taught anymore. Heck what should we expect when the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches of our own government don't either? When our Supreme Court Justices like Ruth G. cite the South African Constitution as superior to ours? God help us.

I'm glad you posted your thoughts, but your "thoughts" and "opinions" do not make them facts.

Even more, if you're going to visit a forum like "Northeastshooters" and make a post about gun control you'd better be darn sure you have facts not fiction to back up your arguments. Otherwise you're going to get strong negative response from those of us who have studied and discussed these topics (clearly) since before you were born.

Don't let this stop you, however. Hang around and do some further research and reading. I think you'll learn a great deal if your mind is open to it.

she is kinda hot.

Oh wait...thats not what we are talking about. Never mind.

Rueben ,

I use my subjective logic to see a need for government enforced permits to go to church.
I also see a need for safety classes before whipping out one's loaded Free Speech.

/sarcasm.

What do law professors say about the last 4 words of the 2nd amendment ?

While I'd love to say I support logical gun control, the logical part is the part that always causes major issues when people attempt to actually put into action. The liberals always see logical as "let us ban all guns" while I see it more as "as long as you aren't shooting at random people and being a general idiot with a gun". And I think most of the reducing idiots would come from people being taught by other adults or parents teaching their children proper use and respect of firearms. But in this state there doesn't seem to be alot of intelligence about somethings.

Guns make more crime? - Go to Maine, where you don't even need ID to buy guns and ammo, and then come talk to me.
I lived in Maine for most of my life and can assure you the Federal Background Check required in the other 49 states to buy a gun is ALSO required in Maine. Positive ID is required in all 50 states.
It's pretty obvious most of your fact checking has been done on DU, MoveOn.org, and The Brady Bill website. I can't believe you want us to take you seriously after posting something like that.[laugh][laugh]

I also support the abolishment of Castle Law. Just because someone is on your property does not give you the right to shoot them for the merely lack of consent to be on your property. I do not believe that you should be allowed to shoot a fleeing assailant or burglar. The only time I believe that you should be able to use deadly force is when your life or another person's life is in danger from a direct threat. If I happened upon a burglar and I had a gun I would not shoot him. I will do what the police would do, make an arrest, a citizens arrest to be exact. But, that is only if they are unarmed. If they are armed, they would be asked to drop their weapon, and surrender. If they are armed or unarmed and attempt to attack me, I would then shoot. If they tried to flee my home I would order them to stop but I would not shoot. This is logic. If the police can not shoot unarmed and/or fleeing felons then why should you be able to shoot them?

Even this paragraph alone is so full of fail I don't know where to start.

For your sake, I hope your insane doctrine doesn't get yourself (or someone you care about) killed.

I'm glad people like you are limited in number. We'd be completely doomed otherwise.

So who sent you? Do you work for John Rosenthal, maybe Nancy Robinson? Guida? Come on, just fess up and get it over with.

I thought the castle doctrine/laws said that you have no duty to retreat. I've never heard of a law that says you can shoot someone for being on your property without consent.

Sounds like an election year seminar poster.

First of all logic is subjective.

I see you don't have a background in science.

I don't care to read anything else after this line.

Did you mean to say that people's reasoning is subjective and sometimes not logical?
Probably not, you probably think 2+2= (what ever it is legislated to equal)

You should listen and learn to the folks here. You may be surprised to see how all of your notions of what you believe don't hold up to actual logic.

Hey Ron, good to see you here posting again.

Hope all is well.

I'd hit it.

Then drop her unarmed in Dudley sq at 10pm to catch a bus.

She'd have a new opinion of self defense the next day.

Lily left cities with violence and crime to start a family in Orgeon and find a soulful connection to hunting, fishing and nature. Then, in a safe place where it would be a long time before they came after her, her family and her guns, she spoke out against use of guns for self-defense, finding voice from the liberal media's efforts to re-elect Obama and his cohorts. And she left everyone in the violent and crime-ridden cities of her past behind.

Socialism drives toward a natural outcome of a tiered class society, not by plan, but by ignoring the imperfections of man. Lily is a shining example of someone who has all good intentions, but would someday realize she is in the protected and sheltered class. And she would justify it by saying the rest of them brought it on themselves. And she would protect her family, property and sporting use of firearms, as the big cities burned.

But it won't come to this. Obama will be out and she will still write, enjoying and life protected by the right to liberty that she scorns. That's the amazing thing about the US, the losers and their supporters are not beaten or banished from the state.
