Today, after almost 3 hours of fighting with the Democrat majority, the final vote was taken and the NH State house now has a gun ban for the chamber, the gallery and the two rear rooms.
Vote (196 Yeah, 153 Nay, 49 Not voting) for passage of this gun ban. (RC vote #5 of 2013)

Thanks to all of the mAssplants that voted in these anti-gun socialists into office... (SARCASM for those that missed it)

Call your rep and give them an earful.
The following republicans voted for the ban:
Belknap County - Dennis Fields, Sanborton
Carroll County - Karel Crawford, Center Harbor
Hillsborough County - Carolyn Gargasz, Hollis, Steve Vaillancourt, Manchester
Merrimack County - Priscilla Lockwood, Canterbury, David Kidder, New London

Several democrats voted against it, including (Gidge, O'Flaherty, Winters, Scarlotto
The rest voted down party lines. (Democrats for the ban, Republicans against it)

Its all about "emotions". They "feel" safer now.

As has been posted many, many times over; Please tell me more...about how criminals (and the mentally deranged)...routinely obey laws....

Who were the 49 who were too chicken shit to vote?

This!!!! What is wrong with these people. They get paid to do one thing. Either they can't bother to show up or they can't make up their mind. Or maybe the don't vote on purpose so they'll be off the hook if something goes the wrong way.

To the stone with broadswords I say.

-tapatalk and Devin McCourty blow chunks-

From the sound of it they only banned guns. I saw we find the meanest looking swords and hold them while saying nothing and staring.

Look at it this way... you are now safe as the public schools... [thinking] [sad2]
Nope. There is no ban on guns in NH schools.

Remember, that's 49 out of 400, and they "get paid to do one thing" a whopping $100 a year.

It's true enough that some will skip a vote to avoid being on the record, but it works both ways on controversial subjects.

So the Federal gun free school zone act doesn't apply?

Also, HB125 the Lawful Commerce In Firearms Act, was never passed into law, therefore I contend that there is a gun ban still in effect in NH schools via the federal one.

How difficult is it to run for state office? In all seriousness.
Is it difficult to go from a full time job to a public servant and back?

NH reps meet every Wednesday when they are in session for voting purposes. If you are on a committee, you meet with that committee whenever they meet.

It isn't too hard but you have to have an understanding employer since you will be gone all day Wednesday every week for as long as the session lasts and there are breaks like congress has. There are committees that do not meet during the weekday I believe.

With my $10 four year "Shall Issue" concealed license, and the ability to buy any gun I damned well please? Not so much...

I hope it stays that way for you, and if it does, I hope I can get there soon; but things are starting to look grim after the last election.

So the Federal gun free school zone act doesn't apply?

18 USC 922(q):
(2)(A) It shall be unlawful for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm that has moved in or that otherwise affects interstate or foreign commerce at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone.
(B) Subparagraph (A) does not apply to the possession of a firearm—

(ii) if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by the State in which the school zone is located or a political subdivision of the State, and the law of the State or political subdivision requires that, before an individual obtains such a license, the law enforcement authorities of the State or political subdivision verify that the individual is qualified under law to receive the license;

We just hashed this out in the other thread:

The following line is key:

"and the law of the State or political subdivision requires that, before an individual obtains such a license, the law enforcement authorities of the State or political subdivision verify that the individual is qualified under law to receive the license"

NH licenses allow the town selectmen to verify you can have the permit. Extremely few NH towns do not have a COP to sign the license, but because of that language in the law, it is unknown if you are breaking the fed law as there is no case law on this.

Here's the quote from the GONH FAQ from their website on the Subject

"What about federal law, does it restrict where I can carry a firearm in New Hampshire? Yes, it does, you cannot lawfully carry a firearm in federal courthouses. Federal law also arguably prohibits carrying a firearm in federal buildings and potentially New Hampshire school zones which is defined as elementary, junior high, and high school (simply because of the language in R.S.A. 159:6, which arguably does not "require" a New Hampshire licensee to make sure the applicant is "qualified under law to receive a New Hampshire license." No New Hampshire licensee has been challenged on this point yet, don‘t be the test case!)."

Sorry about your new defenseless victim zone.

Yup. Me and my gf just got back from my place in Woodstock last night and I couldn't believe how many hippies/libs/all the above I saw up there. More than usual for sure, however I did see many NRA stickers and the gun shop had people walking by and looking in the windows(I don't know if that's good or bad ) . All I can say is, in the almost 24 years of my life going up to NH it has changed a lot over the past few years. Let's hope you guys don't end up like ASSachusetts. [sad2]

Save those words, and pray you can still say them again in a year.

Hey, those "gun-free zones" have a great track record. Makes sense to me.

Word on the street is that the GOP and some Democrats are going the whole "civil disobedience" route now.

Yup. I'm going to consider a run in 2014. The only problem is that my ideology runs pretty true to my current reps. Maybe if one of them decides not to run...

So in another thread said I was going to move to NH if we passed anymore stupid gun laws, I guess I should look further south instead. [frown]
