New Texas gun laws

The comments are to be expected. like this one...
So the next mass shooter can carry his weapons in public before he shoots the next 10 to 20 people?

"buy guns on the internet without a background check and without paperwork"

You mean private sales, you ass hat? Its not like Amazon is drone delivering glocks.

If they did, that would be awesome. Need a pretty beefy drone to deliver a brick of 9mm though.

Wow, common sense gun laws that actually make sense. The disaster clause is a good one- SHTF situation like Katrina can happen again, and you never know who you might need an armed defense against:

New Orleans Police Officers Plead Guilty in Shooting of Civilians

Fake news central uses the 3,500 TX gun deaths in 2017, not mentioning that approx 2/3 would be suicide.

Also is not mentioning that puts it #27th for per capita gun deaths.

Would like to see how many of those are gang-related.

Would like to see how many of those are gang-related, as I'm sure those guns are not being used legally.

Great point. It's a big state with a large population, so the total number becomes less significant as a per-capita stat.

Good - these a-hole mass shooters are counting on the fact that no one is armed, so they spray and pray to their heart’s content. With a more armed population, maybe they’ll think twice before committing such an atrocity.

I'm not giving MSNBC any clicks, but there have been a number of these articles implying how crazy and insensitive Texas lawmakers must be to do this right after El Paso.

But, they didn't do this right after El Paso. They did it months ago. The Texas legislature only meets for 120 days every other year. They ended their 2019 session on May 27. With the very rare exception of laws that take effect upon signing, all Texas statutes take effect September 1.

Once the governor signed these bills, there was literally no mechanism to stop them from becoming law even if there was the political will to do so.
