Im looking for a electrician in local are of whitman MA for a small job.
I have a large air compressor that the motor is rated 110/220 as the tag on motor states.
I would like this to be wired to run on 110 for test purposes and to make my life easier. I do not have 220 anywhere near where this unit will sit. Will see little use.

I also have a small stock pile of older electrical supplies that have to removed from my moms house that is for sale.

Im looking for trade or small bribe of ammo for services.

Does the motor have a name plate on it? This is a very easy thing to do just by looking at the diagram on the motor and moving a few wires around.

If it's a large compressor, as you state, you probably can't run it off a regular 120 volt receptacle circuit because it will draw too much. The nameplate will give you all the info you need to run at 120 or 240.

This.

If you try to run it off 110 service it might very well blow the circuit every time.

Post the amperage figures from the plate. If it's UL rated, that info will be on that plate. IIRC, motor driven compressors are subject to the 125 percent rule in the code.
