Recent (recently aired, at least) Mythbusters TV show did a segment ont he Hollywood movie myth of shooting a gun out of someone's hand.
We knew it was mostly implausible (they used static, laser-aimed shots) but what shouldn't have been surprising but I hadn't thought about was that the spattering of lead from hits seemed likely to cause some notable injuries, that are never portrayed in the movies.
