My Gun Vault G2000D failed today

Yeah - I've had 2 units. As each one broke they said the new ones fixed the problem, but wouldn't fix my problem (over 12mo from purchase). I'm not big on paid beta testing...

So -now I use Simplex pushbutton units that never fail.

I just bought one yesterday, now I'm concerned. You think if the company had a design flaw that was causing failures they would have had some sort of recall to fix them. Damn.

Well, the way I see it you have 2 choices:

1) open it up and see what the motor uses to connect to the lock.
2) return it.

If you do open it up I'd love to know what they are using these days for a cable.

The fishing line trick worked for me, but I can't think of this safe as reliable.
