My wife has a co-worker from Texas who is rather disgruntled that he had to leave half his fire arms collection in TX when he moved here.

I could be wrong, but I thought that as long as you previously owned the fire arm in another state prior to moving to Mass you could then bring it to Mass as long as you have a LTC here even if it's not on the approved list.

Am I wrong in this assumption?

Just handguns.

Magazines and rifles are another story.

Yup. He's cool bringing the guns in, but if he has high capacity magazines or rifles with "evil features", he needs to make sure they were made prior to the original, now sunsetted Assault Weapons Ban, (which Massachusetts and don't forget sheep: MITT ROMNEY still recognize). [slap]

Don't do what I did. I got a job offer and had to move within the week.
I was so spooked about it I sold all my stuff and it has taken almost ten years to recover. I just didn't have time to do the research.

Having said that, moving here was the dumbest thing I ever did
