Mount Lafayette in NH and open carry

I thought a national forest was different than a national park.

I wouldn't open carry there myself but was wondering if concealed carry was OK there. I'm hoping to do some hiking there again.

National Forests mirror state laws, it is therefore legal to open carry while hiking in the White Mountain National Forest.

Don't forget if you do not have a NH Pistol & Revolver license (or a CCW permit from a State recognized by NH) you must have the firearm unloaded in your car on the way to/from the park.

Trying to scare the hippies, huh?

Remember, if you do not have a CCW permit, you HAVE TO open carry. If you have a jacket covering your gun, Ranger Danger can hassle you big time.

I got my NH non-res permit recently, after applying in JANUARY!

n.b. to those getting one
